Looking for people to discuss books with? You've found them. Check with the reference desk (or any library in the STELLA system!) for this month's read: Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, by Anthony Bourdain. This wild and unflinching memoir of working in commercial restaurant kitchens launched Bourdain's career as a celebrity chef, food writer, and travel documentation. To get a feel for his early writing, check out this article from 1999 he wrote for The New Yorker: "Don't Eat Before Reading This." A few copies of the book will be available at the library, but we can help you get a copy from another library in the system. Come and discuss it in the Library's new Program room from 7:00-8:30; the group welcomes hearing about other books you've been reading too! (While there will be spoilers, it's always ok to attend even if you didn't finish the book!)
