About this event
This Community Meeting is free and open to the public to learn more about Boston's transportation infrastructure.
In Boston, we've seen over the past couple of years how quickly progress on building safer streets can halt. From stalled projects, the removal of bicycle infrastructure, and opaque communication between City Hall and the public, we need something to hold our government accountable to building safer streets. Cambridge and Somerville respectively passed their Cycling Safety and Safe Streets Ordinances less than a decade ago and have seen tremendous strides in building safe bicycle infrastructure as a result of this legislation.
That's why the Boston Cyclists Union is embarking on a campaign to advocate for a Safe Streets Ordinance! Join us for our campaign launch event on Tuesday, 11/17 from 5:30-6:30pm . We'll brainstorm ways to build public support for a Safe Streets Ordinance, ideate about the contents of the ordinance, and provide ways for you to get involved in our advocacy.
