PLAY HAND, KNEE, AND FOOT
Join us in playing this easy to learn game, meet new people, and socialize!
Hand, Knee, and Foot is an exciting, fast-paced game derived from classic Canasta. Usually played with four people in partnerships, it requires players to cycle through three separate piles of cards—their "Hand," "Knee," and "Foot"—by making melds and books before anyone else can go out.
The objective is for the partners to complete a contract by forming five separate Canastas (books) each round consisting of seven cards of the same rank – a “clean” book, a “dirty” book which may contain up to two wild cards, a book consisting only of sevens, a book consisting only of fives, and a book of wild cards. Once they complete the contract, the round will end when one of the partners has played all of their cards from their hand, knee and foot piles.
Four rounds are played, and scoring is based on the contracts completed and the value of the cards played, less the value of any remaining un-played cards.
