About this event
What Art Makes Visible What role can public art play in the life of a community?
The Isaías González-Soto Branch Library and Humanities New York invite you to a Community Conversation about public art and community life.
At the González-Soto Branch, we’ll use an image of the Roberto Clemente mural on Niagara Street as our anchor.
We’ll consider its history and the community participation behind it. The mural will open a larger conversation about what public art can make present and what it means for memory to become part of the everyday landscape. No special knowledge of art or history is needed. This is a facilitated conversation built around shared observation and reflection.
