About this event
Join early childhood educators from the Smithsonian and the National Head Start Association on November 18th at 3pm EST for free the live professional development webinar “ Smithsonian Solutions: Sparking Conversation and Curiosity Through Hands-on Learning”.
Everyday objects such as kitchen tools, clothing items or natural materials naturally spark children’s curiosity as well as provide opportunities to strengthen children’s language and cognitive skills. In this training you will explore how to ask children meaningful questions to provoke conversations, techniques for making children’s thinking visible, and how engaging with objects follows children’s natural learning process.
This webinar is adapted from the free asynchronous webinars: Object-based Learning in the Early Childhood Classroom. It was created as part of the Get a Head Start with the Smithsonian project in conjunction with the National Head Start Association. You can find all of our asynchronous webinars as well as virtual field trips and resources from the National Zoo and around the Smithsonian here: nationalzoo.si.edu… .
