About this event
Join us for a fun and simple wood turning class where we will learn how to make Scottish Spurtles!
What is a Scottish Spurtle? A Spurtle is a wooden Scottish kitchen tool, dating from the 15th century, that is used to stir porridge, soups, stews, and broths. This is the perfect tool for all the harvest cooking to come this fall!
All skill levels including beginner wood turners (who have a minimum of three pens made with our foundry) are welcome to join us. This class is for those ages 9+ (Adults included!), all materials will be provided and patrons are required to wear closed toes shoes as well as have a completed safety waiver by the start of class.
