Beyond Green Gables with Dr. Margery Marcus (Adults)

About this event

Long before she created Anne Shirley, the irrepressible hero of the Anne of Green Gables novels, author Lucy Maud Montgomery experienced a lonely childhood. Orphaned, she was raised by strict grandparents in an isolated farmhouse in Cavendish, Prince Edward Island. Montgomery channeled her unhappiness into creating a fictional heroine beloved by millions throughout the world. Join Dr. Margery Marcus as she recounts the poignant story of Montgomery who, despite personal hardships, gave us Anne, whose sunny disposition has captured the hearts of readers for over 100 years.
