Hers and His: The Art of Cynzcia Sanchez and Edward Toledano

About this event

Cynzia Sanchez and Edward Toledano have re-invented themselves a few times over their lives. Their most recent re-invention was in 2018, with a move from Atlanta to the small city of Maxeys, Georgia to renovate a 5600 square foot architectural gem that was built in 1920 to serve as a Bed and Breakfast.

Cynzia’s artwork is primarily focused on painting and drawing, utilizing oil and watercolor paints. Her drawings are crated with charcoal and colored pencils. Her work has been represented in various exhibits and shows for many years.

Edward has had a creative flair all his life, having had the benefit of a mother who was an artist and art teacher, he was influenced by art from an early age. With the encouragement of Cynzia, he began his work with found objects. The motivation for this medium was the 4800 square foot chicken barn on the property that was filled with so many unique and interesting items, they had to become something new.

The show at the Athens-Clark County Library Bogue Gallery is the first show where they have combined their artistic endeavors, and they welcomed the chance to exhibit together for the first time, and in the years to come.
