About this event

Join Stacey Chambers in learning more about the Sensing and Learning approach to supporting students with visual impairments and complex learning needs. Sensing and Learning targets students who are learning the sensorimotor skills of attention, exploration, and functional use of objects as the foundation of early literacy and symbolic communication. The approach utilizes collaborative, observational assessments to pinpoint present levels, determine goals within the student's zone of proximal development, and identify highly motivating learning media. Teams use this information to design instructional routines, the heart of the Sensing and Learning approach. Together, we will explore case studies and practical tips for teams to implement these research-based strategies. ASL Interpreters will be provided. Attendance is free. Certificates of Attendance will be provided. CEUs available from ACVREP.
