About this event

Día de Muertos: A Celebration of Life and Remembrance Join us for a vibrant and heartfelt celebration of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead)—a time-honored tradition that joyfully remembers loved ones who have passed. Discover the rich meaning behind colorful customs such as creating an ofrenda (altar), the bright beauty of cempasúchil (marigolds), the intricate designs of papel picado, the sweetness of sugar skulls, and the artistry of nichos. La Catrina and El Catrin costumes are encouraged but not required. Get creative decorating your own calavera (sugar skull and cookie), and enjoy light refreshments as we celebrate life, memory, and community. Free and open to all—come experience this uplifting tradition that honors the past while embracing the joy of the present. This event is supported by the Friends of the Bluffton Library and volunteer community members.
