One Costume To Rule Them All

About this event

Step beyond the veil of Middle-earth and enter a realm of legend at our Trick-or-Treating and Costume Contest!

From the rolling hills of the Shire to the fiery depths of Mordor, we invite hobbits, elves, dwarves, wizards, rangers, and dark lords alike to bring their favorite characters to life. Whether you channel the courage of Frodo Baggins, the wisdom of Gandalf, the grace of Arwen, or the power of Aragorn, this is your chance to step into the story and let your imagination reign.

Participants will be judged on creativity and overall presentation — so polish your armor, practice your Elvish, and don your finest cloak. Everyone goes home with treats, and the top two winners will go home with their very own Funko POP! figurine. Let the journey begin! Don't worry, if Elves and Dwarves and Hobbits are not your thing, you can still participate and dress up as anything you want!

Please make sure your costume is family-friendly and does not include any weapons!

All ages are welcome! Registration is required.

For your presence, you will earn an extra entry into the One Walk to Rule Them All grand prize drawing with submission of a completed tracker.

This program is made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Durham Library.
