About this event
Looking for a little grown-up conversation without having to find a babysitter? Join us for Pages & Playdates, a laid-back daytime book club designed with moms and caregivers in mind. We’ll spend part of our hour chatting about a fun, approachable book and the rest simply hanging out and getting to know one another. Kids are always welcome, with toys and snacks provided by the library! And don’t worry if you didn’t finish the book (or didn’t get around to reading it at all!). Here, connection comes first and reading comes second. Each month, the group will choose the next book together, so grab your little ones and come make some new friends! September title: A Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches (Sangu Mandanna) A note for caregivers: Kids are always welcome at Pages & Playdates, but this is not a drop-off program. Caregivers are expected to stay with and supervise their children throughout the session. Registration opens two weeks prior to the meeting date. Register online, or by calling 803-981-5858. This program aligns with YCL’s social and emotional literacy framework, which addresses the ability to “read,” recognize, and respond appropriately to emotions and feelings in oneself and in others; likewise, learning how to build and maintain respectful relationships.
