About this event

Join children's book publishers Ambika Sambasivan and Suhani Parikh for an interactive, workshop-style session designed for aspiring picture book authors. If you dream of publishing a picture book, understanding your goals and publishing pathways is step number one. In this interactive*, workshop-style session, we will walk you through how to think about your picture book idea before you even write your first word. We will discuss the basic questions we ask ourselves and explore for any picture book concept, including: - Is the story right for a picture book? - Who is the core audience? - Which of the five pathways to publishing is the best fit? - What are basic must-haves for all authors? - Should I use AI in the process of creating a picture book? *While this is an interactive session, there is no need to bring anything, and participation is not required. About Sambasivan & Parikh Sambasivan & Parikh is a women-owned children's press that centers the experiences of children growing up across geographies and between cultures through stories that feel like home. Sambasivan & Parikh is based in the Capital Region of NY. To learn more, visit their website here.
