About this event

Join local historian, author and former professor Richard Welch for this informative talk on Long Island’s contributions to fighting World War One.

The Great War, the World War, later World War One (1914-1918) was one of the most transformative events in world history. Once the United States entered the war in April 1917, Long Islanders enthusiastically played their part in the national war effort. Learn about the Long Island men that entered the armed forces and the action they saw at the warfront, along with how Long Islanders, Long Island factories and the Island’s Agricultural sector contributed to the war. Registration is required. Open to all.
