New Jersey’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides food assistance to low-income families to help them purchase food using a benefits card accepted at most grocery stores and some farmers markets.
Eligibility is determined by several factors, including income and resources: Who is Eligible for SNAP?
To make the application process faster and easier, please bring the following, as applicable:
- Proof of income
- Proof of address
- Proof of rent and utilities
- Proof of childcare or eldercare expenses
- Proof of medical expenses (if you are age 60 or older or have a disability)
Unable to attend? Consult the NPL calendar for additional dates when a SNAP Navigator will be present, or call Newark Beth Israel Medical Center at 973-926-7627 or email SNAP@rwjbh.org to schedule a more convenient date and time to enroll. See the attached document.
