About this event
An ekphrastic poem is a poem based on an image, whether painting, sculpture or photography. We can write about famous artworks or about images that are personal: old family photos, art we've made ourselves, or pictures we've taken. Artistic and photographic images can inspire us by opening doors onto memories or wider meditations about the world. In this workshop, we'll look at some published ekphrastic poems as examples. Then, we'll write our own poems. The library will provide books of images and artworks to choose from. Or, you can choose to bring your own. This workshop is free and open to all. If you've taken this workshop at Soule before, you're welcome to take it again.
