Alumni Back in the Classroom Alex Ciuffetelli is Co-Owner of The Greenhouse Gastropub in Newark, Delaware. His hospitality career has taken him through both culinary and restaurant management roles, beginning as a line cook with Maui Brewing Co. and later serving as a sous chef, front-of-house manager, and assistant general manager before becoming a restaurant owner. Alex is a University of Delaware hospitality alumnus, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Management in 2016. In 2026, he received the UD Hospitality Accomplished Alumni Award in recognition of his professional achievements. Diana Getchius, SHRM-CP is Vice President of Human Resources at Union Square Hospitality Group, where she has spent more than 13 years progressing from restaurant operations into senior human resources leadership. She began with the company as Dining Room Manager before moving into People Operations and HR roles and becoming Vice President in 2022. Earlier in her career, she worked in food and beverage management with Hyatt Hotels. A University of Delaware hospitality alumna, Diana earned her B.S. in Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Management in 2011. While at UD, she also completed lodging rotations at the Courtyard Marriott at the University of Delaware.
