What is a Death Cafe?
A Death Cafe is a facilitated, informal gathering where people discuss death and dying over tea and cake in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space, aiming to reduce stigma and increase awareness about mortality to help people live more fully . These are not grief support groups or counseling sessions, but rather open, participant-led discussions with no specific agenda, goal, or product promotion. They operate on a non-profit basis, following principles of respect, confidentiality, and fostering open conversation about a topic often avoided in society.
