An Insider's Guide to Book Art with Rachael Gootnick

About this event

Back by popular demand, this informal discussion event gives you an up close and personal look inside the books on display as part of the 2026 Art of the Book & Paper exhibition.

Join local book artist Rachael Gootnick on Monday, November 16th from 5:30pm to 6:45pm in Harold Hacker Hall to explore deeper into the stories, structures, techniques, and themes of these handmade pieces. See inside the covers, hear from the book's creators, and join an inspiring conversation about the varied world of book arts and bookbinding. This event will leave you with a new perspective on how to define books while also giving insight into the minds of the many talented book artists included in this year’s show.

This event is free and open to the public, registration not required.
