STEM Challenge: Dinosaur Egg Drop

About this event

A number of unusual looking eggs have been spotted at the Mahwah Public Library. Could they be dinosaur eggs? In this challenge we’re putting a new spin on a classic STEM challenge. One thing is for sure–we need to get these eggs to an expert as soon as possible! But what if the egg falls during its journey? With a Ziploc bag, an egg, and tokens which you can exchange for materials to cushion your egg’s landing, you will stuff a bag full of materials to carry your dinosaur egg to safety. After stuffing your bag, we’ll test whose egg will survive the drop one by one! This challenge begins with a short overview of physics principles to aid participants before diving headfirst into the challenge.
