About this event
Presented by Teaching Artist Jenny Santa Maria
Inspired by the American landscape in all its forms - from coastlines to deserts, mountains to fields, this expressive drawing workshop is designed especially for those with no artistic experience. Using charcoal, kneaded erasers, and touch, participants will discover how to draw by revealing rather than outlining.
As textures shift and forms appear, each person will see a landscape, real or imagined, begin to emerge from the page, uncovering a story waiting to be seen.
Expect to get your hands a little messy as we explore creative charcoal techniques. Wear an old shirt and join us for an unforgettable, hands-on art experience!
Jenny has a Master in Art Education and Special Education, and works with adults, seniors, and teens - populations often challenged by anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt. These experiences shaped her approach as a "Workshopper" and Art Coach; an educator for everyone, especially those who would typically shy away from taking an art class. Her workshops are accessible and designed to meet people where they are. She has taught in museums, libraries, art centers, and community spaces across New England - always with a focus on inclusion and encouragement.
No prerequisite skills required. All supplies are provided.
Note: this program is only for adults.
Registration is limited and required; registration will open on October 5. If you have registered for the event and can no longer attend, please cancel your registration.
