About this event
The year is 1813, exactly 30 years after the end of the Revolutionary War. The setting is the Broken Oak Tavern, a reconstructed colonial tavern right inside our community room, complete with period props and atmospheric detail. Inside, four local historical figures -- portrayed by local historians in authentic colonial attire -- have gathred to reflect on the tumultuous years of 1776-1783, when Long Island was occupied by British forces and local residents lived behind enemy lines.
