About this event

Before he was “Lucky Lindy,’’ Charles Lindbergh was the king of the “calculated close call,” honing his skills through a series of hair-raising jobs. He spent years practicing the art of “not crashing” in some of the craziest ways possible. Join us to look at his early days as a barnstormer, a mail pilot navigating by bonfires, and a death-defying Army test pilot. You will discover how these seat-of-the-pants adventures gave him the grit and risk-management genius needed to fly solo across the Atlantic in a plane the size of a phone booth with no front window and a wicker chair for a seat. It’s a story of courage, ingenuity, and the ultimate test of staying awake.
