Ever wanted to revisit a classic you read in school - or finally tackle one you've always meant to read? Join us for the Classics Book Club, meeting Saturday mornings this fall at 10am in the Kiwanis Room.
November's selection is Great Expectations by Charles Dickens (1861)
One of Charles Dickens’s most beloved novels, Great Expectations follows Pip, an orphan who dreams of rising above his humble beginnings after receiving a mysterious fortune. His journey from the marshes of rural England to Victorian London brings him into contact with unforgettable characters, including the eccentric Miss Havisham and the beautiful, distant Estella. Part coming-of-age story and part mystery, the novel explores ambition, class, love, loyalty, and the complicated question of what it truly means to become a gentleman.
A limited number of copies just for our book club will be set aside behind the circulation desk, starting October 17th. Stop in after October 17th and ask for a copy!
