About this event

Teen & Tween Graphic Book Club is a monthly meet up for tweens and teens to come together, eat snacks, and talk about graphic novels! We read a variety of graphic novels including graphic memoirs, nonfiction, fiction, and even manga. Our goal is to create a space where our book club members can socialize and share in discussions about the visual medium of graphic storytelling. We also like to draw and eat snacks. This month's graphic novel is The Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States: A Graphic Interpretation by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz and Paul Peart-Smith. A timely read for Indigenous people's month. The Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States: A Graphic Interpretation- Renowned cartoonist Paul Peart-Smith brings Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz's watershed book to life, centering the perspective of the peoples displaced by Europeans and their white descendants to trace Indigenous perseverance over 4 centuries against policies intended to obliterate them. This striking graphic adaptation will rekindle crucial conversations about the centuries-long genocidal program of the US settler-colonial regime that has largely been omitted from history. WINNER OF 2025 OKLAHOMA BOOK AWARD IN BEST ILLUSTRATION This program is supported by the TCPL Foundation
