About this event

Meet the three artists whose work is included in Nature Seen, the exhibit in the Avenue of the Friends from September through November, 2026. Each artist will present and/or demonstrate their work and process. Gregory Haley has more than 30 years of printmaking experience and now concentrates on intaglio engraved in copper, wood carving, and woodcuts, inspired by birds in flight observed during walks in and around Ithaca. Haley's woodcuts draw much of their inspiration in observations during walks in and around Ithaca, and seek to capture the sense of motion from watching birds in flight. Amala Lane is a retired filmmaker who currently participates in efforts to protect civil rights while using art for community building and amplifying public voices. Lane's four-season mandala photographs, entitled "LookUP: Visions from Under the Canopy," invite viewers to allow the images to envelop them and perhaps permit themselves to sink into the “small silences between the leaves.” Tim White has worked in moving images as a film and video projectionist since 2002.The images provided for this exhibit emerged during the creation of visual effects for his film project, titled 3-22-11.
