About this event

Join us at The Roastery: Ceremony Coffee's Russell Street location for a non‑fiction book club hosted by Discoveries: the Library at the Mall. Each month, we'll explore some of today’s most pressing social issues through thoughtful conversation and shared learning. Each session will feature a special guest expert who will help us think about how these issues impact communities in Anne Arundel County. Book club attendees receive a coupon for 10% off at The Roastery, and Ceremony will donate a portion of their proceeds to an organization selected by the program's special guest. For our meeting in November, we'll read The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Joining our discussion will be Jeffrey Popp, a wildlife biologist and Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional, who has worked on numerous habitat restoration projects in our region. Jeffrey is an Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leader and the Co-Director of The Terrapin Institute.
