About this event
Saturday, November 14 | 3 PM (DH) Celebrate the 100th anniversary of John Coltrane's birth with an inspiring program, now in its third year! Student musicians, selected through a competitive audition process, will perform alongside a professional ensemble providing a unique opportunity to collaborate, learn and grow through live performance. Acclaimed saxophonist and educator Jeff Lederer presents themes inspired by Coltrane’s life, including hard work and practice, individual expression, teamwork, improvisation, courage, humility and music as an expression of society. Architectural renderings of the future Coltrane Home will be on display. This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The Huntington Arts Council. No Registration Required. Open to all. This program will take place in-person at 55 Vanderbilt Parkway.
