About this event

Families with children of all ages are invited to celebrate loving relationships between grandparents, parents, and children in this special author event with Stefanie Foster Brown, Kate Hosford and Julie Leung. Cuddle up with your family for storytime with the authors, then craft a unique memento together to bring home and share - just in time for the holidays! Grandparents and siblings are welcome! Registration is required and opens on October 14, 2026. Programs like this are made possible in part by the generosity of our donors. Stefanie Foster Brown is a debut author local to Fairfield County. Her book, My Heart Speaks Kriolu (Denene Millner Books/Simon & Schuster), is a 2026 Ezra Jack Keats Writer Honor Book. She is a former school psychologist with several forthcoming books that explore topics of family, love, and connection. Kate Hosford is the author of seven picture books and two poetry collections, garnering awards such as an American Library Association Notable Book, a Bank Street Best Book of the Year, a Junior Library Guild selection, and a New York Times Best Illustrated Book. She is also a graduate of Vermont College of Fine Arts where she earned her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults. Her most recent book, You and I are Stars and Night, (Simon & Schuster), came out this year. Kate lives in Brooklyn, NY with her family. Julie Leung is an award-winning author of numerous children’s books. Her picture book, The Truth About Dragons is a 2024 Caldecott Honor and winner of the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature. By day, she works in book publishing. She was raised in the sleepy suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, though it may be more accurate to say she grew up in Oz and came of age in Middle-earth.
