English Language Learners Book Club

About this event

Take your English skills to another level. Join us for an English language learners' book club where we read aloud together and discuss the book. In November we will discuss " She Best English Teacher Me Ever Have" by Susan Boland. In her book, Boland recounts her experiences and lessons learned during thirty years of teaching English to a multi-national student body in community college. Her students tell of both their hardships endured and their triumphs celebrated as they take that first critical step, to learn English, on the path to reach their dreams. Adults. Registration begins October 16 After registering you may pick up a free copy of the book at the Central Library as long as supplies last. If you would like to meet weekly with a library volunteer Reading Partner to read the ELL Book Club book together prior to the discussion, email vbpladultservices@vbgov.com. This program is made possible by a grant from the Virginia Beach Library Foundation
