About this event
SoYoQi class combines Somatic movements, yoga, qigong and breathing in an accessible and gentle class that stretches and strengthens while it reduces stress. This class can improve your flexibility and balance as well as increase your endurance and boost mental health. Somatic motion, or somatic movement, is a mindful practice that prioritizes how your body feels internally rather than how it looks or performs. By focusing on internal sensations, this type of movement helps release deep tension, ease chronic pain, and retrain your nervous system to move without strain. Movements are done slowly with eyes often closed, emphasizing interoception (your ability to feel your body from within). No goals or metrics: It is not about reaching fitness goals like increasing speed, strength, or flexibility. Movements can be done standing or using a chair. There are no floor movements; no need for a yoga mat or any equipment; dress comfortably. Led by a local Yoga and QuiGong practitioner with over 9 years of teaching experience.
