About this event
Marc Chagall’s whimsical, colorful art blends dreamlike imagery with themes from his Russian-Jewish heritage. A leading figure of the École de Paris, he worked across painting, illustration, stained glass, ceramics, tapestries, prints, and stage design. Art historian Joseph Paul Cassar examines Chagall’s life, artistic development, autobiography, persecution as a “degenerate artist,” American years, and major works, including the Paris Opera ceiling, Knesset tapestries, and renowned stained-glass windows. (World Art History Certificate elective, 1/2 credit)
