HTFL Writer's Group

About this event

Calling all writers! Whether you write fiction, poetry, memoir, essays, or something that defies categories, the HTFL Writing Group offers a supportive community where you can share your work, get thoughtful feedback, and grow as a writer alongside others who love the craft.

Curious? Come try it out. Your first meeting is a no-pressure chance to see if the group is a good fit. Just come, listen, and get a feel for how we work. If you'd like, bring a short piece to read aloud and discuss with the group, but there's no obligation to share.

How it works. Members submit their writing ahead of time to a shared folder, where fellow writers can read it and leave comments before we meet. Then, at our monthly gathering, writers present their work and the group discusses it together. It's a great way to get fresh eyes on your writing and to learn from reading others' work, too.

Ready to join? If you enjoy your visit and want to become a member, email folwell@haverfordlibrary.org to get connected.

The meeting is hybrid to make it accessible either in the building or online. Please email if you would like the zoom link.

When: October 7th 2026 - First Wednesday of the month.

Where: Scott Lowe Board Room, Haverford Township Free Library

All experience levels are welcome, from first drafts to polished manuscripts. We can't wait to read what you're working on!
