About this event
You and your opponent are scrap mages competing in skirmishes to rule the trash bog, taking turns frantically rummaging through your decks, muttering arcane incantations, and scoring combinations of cards before you collectively run out of Time. Then, you and your opponent have an epic magical showdown. Winner takes the prize!
The Athens Tabletop Artist Collective joins forces with local game designer Alec Nelson to bring Oconee County the first public tournament of SCRAP//HEAP. 16 players start with standard 52 card+ Joker Poker decks and collide in head to head games. In between tournament rounds craft your deck: scribble, cut, fold, burn, and otherwise alter the cards in your deck to give them special abilities during play then trade these crafted cards to opponents to hone your build and refine the focus of your strategy.
By the end of the bracket, take home a completely unique deck filled with art from your opponents and new friends! Custom Prize Packs will be given out to attendees and to winners. The library will provide standard decks and craft supplies, but players are encouraged to bring their own unique poker decks to play and craft with (they make better trade materials). All ages welcome!
A demo/tutorial of the game will start around Noon.
