About this event

An introduction to Watercolor, its history, attributes, and various techniques.

Highlighting a watercolor masterwork to demonstrate the potential of watercolor, classes will cover:

15 watercolor techniques that will be demonstrated and practiced through hands-on learning, including washes, dry brush, lifting, blooms, wet pater, dry paper, etc.

Exercises designed to demonstrate specific techniques to create skies, clouds, water, fields, trees, flowers, hills, and textures

Participants will then utilize these skills to choose a landscape image to replicate in watercolor. The images will be sketched and painted, and at the end of the class, each participant will go home with their very own completed watercolor landscape!

Teresa Gennarelli is a dedicated and creative Art Educator with 27 years of teaching experience. Her teaching objective is to inspire people through the visual arts, while encouraging them to courageously take artistic risks in an environment where failure feels safe and experimentation is encouraged. This provides them with the opportunity to realize their unique creative selves and to gain confidence to freely express their ideas through the visual arts.

No experience is necessary, however, this class is limited to 10 participants and, since each class is designed to build on the skills learned in the previous session, we kindly ask that those who register commit to attending all six sessions. Spots for registered patrons will be held for five minutes, and then the spot will be opened to those on the waitlist.
