About this event

Memory can feel vivid and certain, but it is not a perfect recording of the past. This interactive presentation from the Center for Law, Brain & Behavior explores how memory is formed and changed, including the effects of stress, trauma, suggestion, and interrogation. Attendees will learn what neuroscience can—and cannot—tell us about eyewitness testimony, false confessions, and the reliability of our everyday memories.

Speaker:

Stephanie Tabashneck , PsyD, JD, is a psychologist and attorney who serves as Founding Director of the CLBB NeuroLaw Library and Senior Fellow in Law and Applied Neuroscience at the Center for Law, Brain & Behavior and the Petrie-Flom Center at Harvard Law School. Her work focuses on translating neuroscience and psychology for courts, legal professionals, and the public.
