"Art and Artifact" Gallery Talk

About this event

Join David Rose, Archivist of the NRPL, for a gallery talk that explores the history of the visual arts in New Rochelle, and some famous – and not-so-famous – artists and illustrators whose work is featured in The Art and Artifact exhibit on display in the Lumen Winter Gallery, November 3 - December 3. This will be a unique occasion to experience the diversity of New Rochelle artwork as the source of many fascinating stories. I love to tell stories in pictures. Nothing should ever be shown in a picture which does not contribute to telling the story the picture is intended to teach. The story is the first thing and the last thing. – Norman Rockwell This program involves walking around the Gallery, and the Library to view select items in the exhibit. Given the nature of this program, no seating will be provided.
