Children's Chess Tournament

About this event

Children ages 7–12 are invited to compete in the first Bronxville Library Chess Tournament. This non-elimination tournament provides a structured, fair, and age-appropriate environment to help young players build skills, confidence, and sportsmanship. Time permitting, there will be six rounds. Chess sets will be provided, but participants must know all the rules of play to join. If your child participated in our Advanced Chess Series, they will automatically be enrolled in the tournament Parents: Please plan to drop off your child for the tournament and return to pick them up once the event has finished. To ensure all participants can enjoy a fun, independent afternoon with their peers, we kindly ask that parents do not remain on site during the tournament. We encourage parents to prepare their children for the experience beforehand and to offer emotional support after their games. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
