Diwali Celebration

About this event

Shubh Deepavali! May your Diwali be full of fun and light! Join us in the Scott Room for an afternoon of dance and storytelling in celebration of Diwali. You will learn something of the significance of this meaningful holiday celebrated by more than one billion people around the world. An experienced instructor will demonstrate just a few of the many traditional Indian forms of dance and explain the resonance behind Diwali. Participants will then be invited to participate, if interested, in a brief and accessible dance workshop, joining in with the celebration. About the presenters Ajna Dance is proud to teach, perform, and celebrate a wide range of classical, folk, and Bollywood styles, including Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Garba, Dandiya Raas, and Bhangra. They are based in New York City.
