A Star is Born - A Talk on Stellar Lifetimes

About this event

Stars are more than dots of light in the night sky. Their lives are rich and varied, going through many stages over millions of years. From nebulas to nuclear fusion to black holes, studying the life cycle of a star teaches scientists so much about the universe we live in and how our place in it came to be. Join us as we follow that cycle from beginning to end and learn all about space in the process. Jacob Marcus runs the planetarium at the Sacred Heart University Discovery Science Center, where he spends every day teaching visitors of all ages about the night sky. Jacob earned his bachelor's degree in physics & astronomy and psychology from Emory University in 2023 and has been working in planetariums ever since. Registration required. Walk-ins welcome as space allows.
